How It Works

Mounjaro activates GLP-1, a hormone receptor that helps control your appetite and regulate your blood sugar levels.

Mounjaro also activates GIP, a second hormone receptor that enhances your body's ability to break down fat.

Together, GLP-1 and GIP work to regulate your appetite and improve your metabolism.

Mounjaro is a weight loss treatment designed for people who have already tried to lose weight through diet and exercise but have not achieved the results they wanted.

Who It's Suitable For

You are 18 or over.
Your BMI is 30 or above.
Your BMI is 27 or above, with a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or obstructive sleep apnoea.
You have already tried to lose weight through diet and exercise alone without the results you wanted.

When It's Not Suitable

You are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. (Treatment must stop at least two months before trying for a child.)
You are already using Wegovy or another GLP-1 weight-loss treatment alongside Mounjaro.

Your Dosing Schedule

Each Mounjaro pen contains four doses of your chosen strength, so one pen lasts four weeks at once weekly dosing.

New patients must start on the 2.5mg dose before increasing to a higher strength. If you select a higher dose, you will need to upload proof of a previous prescription.

Mounjaro or Wegovy?

Mounjaro also targets an additional hormone (GIP), which may offer enhanced results for some patients. Wegovy is typically the more affordable option. The two work in the same way, so they should not be used together.

My wife and I visited the clinic for travel vaccination and health advice before a safari in in Africa. It was useful to get individual recommendations. In our experience, they are friendly and professional and not just interested in selling as many vaccinations as possible. Following consultation, some common Vaccines could be provided by the NHS, but others are available via the clinic who are also a source for things like generic Malarone.

How do I take Mounjaro?

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection administered using a pre-filled pen. Each pen contains four doses, and you inject one dose per week. It should be injected under the skin (subcutaneously) in the stomach, thigh, or upper arm.

What doses of Mounjaro are available?

Mounjaro is available in the following strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg. New patients must start on 2.5mg before increasing to a higher dose. If you select a higher dose, you will need to upload proof of a previous prescription.

How quickly will I see results with Mounjaro?

Results vary from person to person, but many patients notice reduced appetite and weight loss within the first few weeks. Clinical trials have shown significant weight loss over 3 to 6 months, especially when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.

What if I’m not approved for treatment?

If our pharmacists determine that Mounjaro is not suitable for you, you will be issued a full refund.

Can I use Mounjaro if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Mounjaro is not suitable for use during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. You must stop treatment at least two months before trying for a child. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding mothers.
