Shingles
Suitable for ages 50+
Shingles is a condition caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After someone recovers from chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the body and can be reactivated to cause an outbreak of shingles later in life. Symptoms include a localized pain or itching sensation on one side of the body; these are usually accompanied by a blister-like rash which may spread over several days largely limited to one side of the body. We can provide a vaccine (Zostavax) to help prevent shingles.
Cold Sores
Suitable for ages 2+
Cold sores are skin lesions that are caused by the herpes simplex virus. They cause small, red and painful blisters to form around the face, mouth, and nose area. While there is no cure for cold sores, research has shown that proper treatment can help reduce healing time and alleviate symptoms. We can provide Aciclovir cream, suspension, or tablets to help treat the cold sore.
Dermatitis
Suitable for ages 1+
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin condition which causes redness, itching, and inflammation. It has the potential to affect any area of the body and can be very uncomfortable. Our pharmacists can provide Betamethasone cream, ointment, or lotion to help reduce inflammation, manage itchiness, and minimise pain.
Fungal Infections
Suitable for ages 1+
Many people suffer from non-severe, non-extensive fungal infections of the skin, which usually cause redness, itchiness and flaking. We are able to prescribe Miconazole and Daktacort cream that can help reduce the irritation of the infection and promote healing. With treatment, somebody who suffers from these common conditions can resume their everyday activities again without worrying about flare-ups.
Hives
Suitable for ages 12+
Hives, also known as urticaria, are itchy skin rashes that appear in raised patches on the surface of the skin. Generally caused by an allergic reaction to certain substances, hives usually dissipate within a few hours – however, in some cases they can linger for a few days or even weeks. We can provide medication for those suffering from chronic urticaria.
Impetigo
Suitable for ages 2+
Impetigo is a highly contagious bacterial skin infection that often starts with sores or blisters on the face or hands which usually progresses into crusty yellow sores. It’s most common in children but can affect adults too.
We can provide an antibacterial cream (Fusidic Acid) to help treat this.
Plaque Psoriasis
Suitable for ages 6+
Plaque psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that causes raised, red and scaly skin lesions on the body. These lesions can occur anywhere on the body but commonly appear on the scalp, elbows and knees. With proper treatment, one can greatly improve the symptoms of plaque psoriasis. We can provide treatment containing Calcipotriol (Dovonex) or Calcipotriol and Betamethasone (Dovobet).
Rosacea
Suitable for ages 18+
Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder that causes reddening of the face, along with other symptoms such as flushing, a burning sensation and visible blood vessels. It can also cause pimples and swelling in more severe cases. For those diagnosed with rosacea, we can provide Mirvaso gel (Brimonidine) to help treat the symptoms.
Scalp Psoriasis
Suitable for ages 18+
Scalp psoriasis is a type of plaque psoriasis. It can occur on parts of your scalp or on the whole scalp. It causes patches of skin covered in thick scales. Some people find scalp psoriasis extremely itchy, while others have no discomfort.
If you are suffering from scalp psoriasis, we can provide Calcipotriol with Betamethasone gel or foam to help with this.

Vaccinate Against Chicken Pox
Suitable for ages 1+
Chickenpox is an extremely contagious virus caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It can cause an itchy, uncomfortable rash with tiny fluid-filled blisters that eventually burst and scab over. Fortunately, we now have a vaccine to help reduce the risk of contracting chickenpox for those who are especially vulnerable.
The two main ways to prevent chickenpox are getting vaccinated, or developing immunity naturally by having already had the infection. Vaccination is the most reliable method, as those who have had chickenpox before can still get it again, especially in later adulthood.
