Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a prescription-only medicine that may be prescribed for weight management in eligible adults alongside diet and physical activity.
Who may be eligible for Mounjaro?
The licence includes adults with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or above, or 27 kg/m² or above with at least one weight-related condition. A clinician must still decide whether it is suitable for you.
How does the assessment work?

Do I need to have diabetes?
No. The weight-management indication is based on clinical eligibility, including BMI and relevant weight-related conditions, rather than diabetes alone.
How should I store my treatment?
Follow the storage instructions on your medicine label and patient leaflet. Protect the pen from excessive heat and do not freeze it. Storage rules can change after first use. Contact the clinic before using a pen if you are concerned about how it has been stored or delivered.
What should I do if I miss a dose or take a break?
Check the missed-dose instructions in your patient leaflet and contact your prescriber if you are unsure. Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed dose. After a treatment break, ask for advice before restarting because the appropriate dose may need to be reviewed.
