Description

The Well Man Premier Plus Profile is an extensive blood test designed to give men a detailed and reliable overview of their current health status. It assesses multiple body systems to help identify conditions that often develop silently over many years, frequently without noticeable symptoms, yet can significantly impact long-term wellbeing.

This profile combines hormonal, metabolic, cardiovascular, nutritional, inflammatory, and organ function markers into a single comprehensive test. By identifying early signs of imbalance or dysfunction, it supports informed lifestyle decisions, targeted interventions, and proactive health management before problems progress.

Why This Test?

Many common health conditions affecting men develop gradually and may not cause symptoms until they are advanced. Blood testing is one of the most effective ways to detect early changes and intervene before long-term damage occurs.

This profile provides insight into key areas of men’s health:

Blood health and immunity – A full blood count helps detect anaemia, infection, immune changes, and clotting issues.

Diabetes and metabolic health – HbA1c identifies diabetes or prediabetes, allowing early intervention to protect long-term health.

Thyroid function – Thyroid imbalance can cause fatigue, low mood, weight changes, constipation, and slow recovery, and is often missed without testing.

Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk – Raised cholesterol significantly increases the risk of heart disease and stroke and is usually symptom-free.

Inflammation – Low-grade inflammation can increase cardiovascular risk and contribute to chronic health conditions.

Testosterone levels – Testosterone influences energy, mood, muscle mass, libido, metabolism, and overall vitality.

Iron and nutritional status – Iron, vitamins, and minerals are essential for energy, blood health, nerve function, and immune resilience.

Liver and kidney function – These organs process toxins, medications, and metabolic waste; early dysfunction may be present without symptoms.

Bone and muscle health – Markers support assessment of bone strength, muscle stress, and metabolic balance.

  • Comprehensive men’s health screening
  • Baseline health assessment
  • Early detection of silent conditions

Our home finger-prick tests use the same accredited laboratories as our clinic tests. While clinic tests allow for more comprehensive panels, home tests are highly accurate for the parameters they measure.

No, you don’t need a GP referral. You can book directly with us for any blood test. We are a private clinic offering direct access to comprehensive blood testing.

We will only draw blood from those aged 16 and above due to legal requirements.

If you have used our clinic to complete a blood test, we send off all samples the same day to the lab to be processed. If you have used a home test kit, then once your sample has been sent off the lab will analyse your sample. Results are usually received within 72 hours.

Your home blood test kit will contain easy-to-follow instructions on how to take your own finger blood sample. If you have any concerns or questions prior to using the kit, please contact our phlebotomists who will be happy to assist.

There is no preparation required prior to taking any of the blood tests. Please simply remember to stay hydrated prior to your appointment. This is to help your veins dilate better to enable a quick and efficient blood sample to be taken and reduce the risks of feeling faint following your blood test.

Please inform the phlebotomist before your test if you are currently taking any blood thinning medication.

Fasting is not required for most blood tests. However, if your profile includes cholesterol tests and you’ve previously had high levels, consider fasting for 8 hours beforehand. While not essential, fasting can provide more accurate results.

Note: Fasting means abstaining from any food and drink, except for water.
